Immigration Resources:

The state of Connecticut has developed a resource toolkit for individuals and families with immigration concerns, particularly in regards to the deportation or detainment of parents or guardians and the impact on their children.

There is no cost to use this Plan and you do not need attorneys or court involvement.

If you are worried about what will happen to your children if you are detained or deported, you should make a family preparedness plan. Hopefully you will never need to use it, but you will have it ready if you do.

Back to School

With the help of many generous contributors, we have school supplies!  School supplies can be expensive. If money is tight and you need help purchasing items for your kids during the school year, please give us a call.

Holiday Giving

WYFS works with the school social workers, the Town Social Services director, and generous donors to identify Westbrook families that could benefit from support. We use donations to purchase giftcards to help these families.

Westbrook Youth and Family is proud to supplement the good works of the Town with donation programs to help those in need during the holiday season. In previous years, with your generous support, we helped up to 300 children for the holiday season. These programs have many positive effects on community spirit as those both giving and receiving can share and support their friends and neighbors.

Warm the Children

The Warm the Children program provides warm coats for children under the age of 18 that meet financial need requirements. This program runs from October to December or until funds are exhausted. Old Saybrook Rotary provides this service for the towns of Westbrook, Old Saybrook, and Old Lyme.

This year WYFS will also be accepting clean, very gently-loved children’s coats looking for a new owner. We will distribute these coats to families as the coats become available in the fall.
